Hiroshima & Himjei Castle

We took the bullet train from Fukuoka to Kyoto (which goes almost 200 mph!), but made two quick stops along the way. We first stopped in Hiroshima to see the A-bomb Dome. This building has been preserved because it was the only one left standing after the atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima in 1945. They made it into a memorial to serve as a peace symbol.

It was really interesting being there and seeing this part of history.

We hopped back on the bullet train and got off in Himeji. Our second stop was to see Himeji Castle, which is the largest and most visited castle in all of Japan.

There were tons of colorful and pretty koi fish in the mote that surrounded the castle and we started to feed them. They jumped & got Luke all wet!

Next stop, Kyoto!
